Representational Oil Painting: Representational Painting will introduce and further your knowledge of the design and technique elements of pictorial art used to translate the perceived world into two-dimensional constructs of line and tone with the use of color as a tool. The class will examine what makes a picture look real and what makes it aesthetically pleasing. What makes an object look three dimensional, and how to employ value (range of dark to light) to create this effect.
The Instructor will demonstrate techniques of painting and provide personal instruction to the students while they paint. We will reference art history as old and new masters are discussed in class to provide a wider understanding of design and technique used in pictorial art. |
